  Yesterday marked the beginning of the 2022 FIFA world cup being hosted in Qatar. As such, the host nation was expected to feature in the opening match.  However, thing didn't go down with with the Qatari team as the Ecuador football team beat them 2 - 0. One of his goal which could have made it 3 was ruled offside by the VAR officials. By the result, Qatar has become the first national team to lose an opening match as the host nation. This is the first time in the history of FIFA world cup where the host nation will lose their opening match.  The world cup will continues today with England playing against Iran by 2pm.

  The Portugal National Football team yesterday, 17th November, beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a friendly encounter. The match which ended 4 - 0 in favour of the Portuguese team revealed how rusty the Super Eagles team is. The match was part of the buildups in the preparation of the Portuguese team for the World Cup tournament in Qatar which is to commence in 3 days.  The first goal of the match was netted by Bruno Fernandes at the 9' minutes. He equally converted a penalty in the 35' minutes to put the Portuguese team 2 nil ahead of the Eagles before the break. The remaining 2 goals came during the second half of the match by G. Ramos and J. Mario at the 82' and 84' minutes respectively.  The governor of Rivers State, Gov. Nyesom Wike has completed yet another milestone in his series of flyover Constructions in Port Harcourt and the entire Rivers State.  This times around, the governor invited the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi to commission the completed Nkpolu-Orowolukwo Flyover in the Port Harcourt City. The flyover was awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria PLC about a year ago. The flyover which is located along the Nkpolu-Orowolukwo axis was commissioned on the 17th of November, by the most popular presidential candidate in the coming Nigeria general election billed for February next year. During the commissioning, Mr. Peter Obi raise gov. Wike for his good works in the state and described him as a credible and performing governor.
