Regional Security Outfit Ebubeagu Kills 7 Villagers In Imo State


 A regional Security Outfit, Ebubeagu reportedly kills 7 Villagers In Awomama in Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State who where returning from a wedding ceremony, killing up 7 at the spot. Others sustained injuries while 2 are receiving treatment at undisclosed hospital. The deceased where from Otulu, Orlu in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State.


Story has it that the security outfit open fire on the bus vehicle transporting the people back to Otulu after the wedding ceremony they attended on Sunday.


A village head from Otulu, Nnamdi Agbor who spoke with BBC Igbo correspondent said the people who where returning from wedding ceremony where shot at by Ebubeagu, 7 people lost their lives while 2 are receiving treatment at hospital, others who sustained injuries have left to their various homes. While 5 persons are still missing.


He expressed anger and stated that the people where innocent as they where returning from wedding ceremony. He said the matter has been reported to the commissioner of police in Imo State and the General commander of the 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze. He equally stated that the DPO is already investigating the matter.

Among the deceased are 2 siblings from the same parents.


The spokesperson of Police in Imo State, Mike Abattam confirmed the incidence and stated that investigation are already ongoing.


A Punch News correspondent, Chidiebube Okeoma confirmed on his Facebook page that 7 persons died as against 14 been reported from some quarters.



From the video making around on the internet, angry Villagers where seen parading the dead bodies and chanting that Ebubeagu must go.
