Police Clearance Certificate Price Goes Up To ₦40,000

 


If you are traveling abroad and wishes to obtain the Nigerian Police Character Certificate (PCC) not that the price has been hike to ₦40,000.


Prior before now, the price use to be ₦5,000. But recently, it has been increased to ₦40,000, that is, by over 700%. 


According to report from Vanguard News, the increase in price is with immediate effect and with no reason given. 


PCC  also know as Police Character Certificate or Police Clearance Certificate is a certificate being issued to some individuals who wish travel out for studies, or employment to show that they have no criminal record or they are not running away from any form of offence. Some employers in Nigeria also demand PCC from employees for some reason best known to them.

Report from Vanguard stated that some policemen who spoke to their correspondent stated that students who applied for the certificate received a notification that the price has been increased to ₦40,000 on Sunday.


Before the price increase, the amount for PCC has been ₦5,000 or more depending on the police officer processing the certificate and also the individual involved.
